Book Hala Taxis in Dubai Effortlessly Through WhatsApp Now

Hala Taxis Introduces WhatsApp Booking for Greater Accessibility

Hala Taxis, a collaboration between Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem, has made ride bookings more convenient by launching a new feature that allows users to book rides directly via WhatsApp. This update enhances accessibility, especially for Dubai’s residents and tourists who rely heavily on WhatsApp for communication.

Seamless WhatsApp Integration for Hala Taxis

The integration of WhatsApp as a booking option aligns with Hala’s focus on adopting digital solutions to improve the customer experience. This simplifies the booking process, providing an alternative for users unfamiliar with the Careem app.

How to Book a Hala Taxi Using WhatsApp

Booking a ride through WhatsApp is straightforward. Users save the number 800-HALATAXI (+971-4252-8294) and send a "Hi" message to begin. They’ll receive prompts guiding them through the booking process, with prices and services remaining the same as those offered via the Careem app.

Multiple Payment Options Available

Hala Taxis offer flexible payment methods, including cash, credit or debit cards, and Apple Pay. However, Hala credits and promo discounts are currently only available through the Careem app.

No Extra Costs for WhatsApp Bookings

There are no additional charges for booking a Hala Taxi through WhatsApp, and fare calculations remain consistent. After each trip, the receipt is sent directly to the WhatsApp chat for customer transparency.

Cancellation Policy for WhatsApp Bookings

Customers can cancel their ride for free within five minutes of booking. If the cancellation occurs after five minutes or the driver has started the journey, a Dhs12 fee is applied.

Careem App for Special Features

For specialized services like Hala Max (six-seater) or Hala Kids (with child seats), and options like ride scheduling or discounts, users will need to book through the Careem app.

This feature is part of Hala’s ongoing commitment to enhance user convenience by making ride bookings more accessible and user-friendly.

A Brief Guide To Know About Annual Leave in the UAE

Under UAE Federal Decree Law No.33 of 2021, employees are entitled to a minimum of 30 days of paid annual leave for each year of service, as outlined in Article 29(1)(a).This guarantees that all employees receive at least 30 days of leave annually.

Employees may carry forward up to 15 unused leave days to the following year, as per Article 19 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022, which implements the decree. They can either choose to carry over half of their leave or receive a cash allowance. In cases of employment termination, any unused leave must be compensated in cash based on the employee’s basic salary.

Annual leave accumulates yearly, and if not utilized, employees can request cash compensation for the unused leave, as specified in Article 19(1). This provides a flexible alternative for employees if they are unable to take their leave, subject to agreement with the employer.

The timing and approval of annual leave are at the employer's discretion. Employers may approve leave in full blocks or intervals according to company policy, giving employees the flexibility to take 30 calendar days of leave per year, either all at once or in parts. In some cases, employers may allow leave to be taken once every two years, as per Article 29(8) of the Employment Law.

If an employee leaves the job before utilizing their leave, they are entitled to cash compensation for any unused leave days, calculated based on their basic salary. This provision, highlighted in Article 29(9), ensures employees are fairly compensated for any accrued leave at the end of their employment.

UAE Visa Amnesty Procedures Clarified for Passport Loss Cases

UAE Visa Amnesty Procedures Clarified for Passport Loss Cases

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has outlined the procedures for UAE visa amnesty seekers who have lost their passports. It is essential to first obtain a lost passport certificate. During the two-month grace period, which ends on October 31, violators of residency laws can avoid legal action, including bans and fines, by either leaving the country or regularizing their status without incurring any fees.

Steps for Amnesty Seekers Who Lost Passports

  1. Apply for a Lost Passport Certificate: This is a mandatory step for those who have lost their passports.

  2. Submit a Request Through the Smart System: For those in Abu Dhabi, a request must be submitted via the smart system. The applicant will receive an extract of residency details and a certificate stating that the passport has been lost. This document is necessary to obtain a travel document.

Application Channels for UAE Visa Amnesty

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has confirmed that residents and visitors who have overstayed their visas can apply for the amnesty through three available channels:

  1. Online Application: Via the official website or mobile app.
  2. In-Person Visits: Residents can also apply by visiting the designated centers.
  3. Smart Service Centers: Utilization of smart service centers for submitting required documents.

Consulate General of India Advisory

As the UAE Government's two-month amnesty scheme begins, the Consulate General of India (CGI) in Dubai has issued an advisory for Indian nationals who wish to take advantage of the scheme. The CGI has provided contact points for assistance at various Indian associations to support amnesty applicants.

Key Points:

  • The amnesty period runs from September 1 to October 31.
  • Violators can either leave the UAE or regularize their visa status without facing penalties.
  • The scheme provides an opportunity for residents to rectify their visa status.

Note: It is advised that all residents and visitors wishing to avail of the amnesty scheme contact the relevant authorities for detailed guidance and clarification on specific cases.

UAE Introduces New Visa Amnesty Program: Key Information You Should Know

The UAE is preparing to introduce its first residency visa amnesty in six years, offering individuals with expired visas a chance to either regularize their status or exit the country without penalties. This government initiative provides a two-month period for those with lapsed residency visas to take necessary action.

 Amnesty Start Date

The amnesty period is set to begin on September 1 and will continue until November 1. While this timeline has been confirmed by authorities, similar past initiatives have sometimes been extended beyond the initial dates.

Who is Managing the Amnesty?

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) will be in charge of overseeing the amnesty program. The ICP has indicated that more details on the process will be shared in the coming weeks. The initiative is in line with the UAE’s values of compassion and tolerance.

How Will the Amnesty Process Work?

The UAE will leverage artificial intelligence to simplify the procedures during this residency visa amnesty. From September onwards, individuals with expired visas will have two months to either regularize their status or leave the UAE without incurring fines. The ICP is offering this amnesty as a gesture that reflects the UAE’s core values, giving violators a new opportunity to comply with the law.

Has the UAE Implemented Similar Visa Amnesty Programs Previously?

Yes, the UAE has previously launched visa amnesty programs in 2007, 2013, and 2018, attracting thousands to immigration centers to regularize their status. Another program was introduced in 2020 to aid those stranded in the UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What Are the Current UAE Visa Regulations?

Most UAE residents hold a two or three-year visa, which has now been replaced by an electronic visa and the Emirates ID. In April 2022, the UAE Cabinet updated visa regulations, adding new categories for golden and green visas designed for self-employed individuals and business owners. These updated regulations came into effect in September 2022.

What Are the Consequences of Overstaying a UAE Visa?

Overstay fines are fixed at Dh50 ($13.60) per day for both tourists and residents. Residency visa holders have a six-month period to either exit the UAE or adjust their status by securing employment following the expiration or cancellation of their visa. The upcoming amnesty will especially assist those who exceed this six-month grace period.

How to Legally Manage Living Expenses Before a Divorce in UAE

If you and your spouse are contemplating divorce in the UAE, you can legally establish your financial responsibilities prior to filing.

You have the option to draft a formal agreement that outlines how expenses, such as rent and utilities, will be divided. This financial arrangement should be mutually agreed upon and clearly define the rights and obligations of both parties. To ensure the contract is legally binding, it must include essential elements: mutual consent, a specific subject matter, and a legal purpose. Once the agreement is completed, it should be submitted to the Personal Status Court as part of your divorce proceedings. The court will evaluate the contract under UAE law to ensure it meets legal requirements before making a decision.

This method provides clarity on financial responsibilities and facilitates a smoother transition throughout the divorce process.

Employees in UAE Can Combine Paternity Leave with Their Annual Leave

In the UAE, employees working for mainland companies are eligible for five working days of paid parental leave, which can be taken within the first six months after their child's birth. According to UAE labor laws, fathers have the option to combine paternity leave with their annual leave, allowing them to extend their time off to support their families during this important period.

To use this benefit, employees must provide a copy of the child's birth certificate to their employer. This flexibility is provided under Article 32(1)(b) of Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 and Article 21(5) of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022.

This policy is particularly beneficial for parents who need additional time beyond the standard parental leave. By combining their paternity leave with annual leave, employees can maximize their time at home with their newborn and support their spouse during the early stages of parenthood. However, this combined leave must be taken within six months of the child's birth.

Employees considering this option should plan accordingly and coordinate with their employer to ensure a smooth process.
