International driving permit can be converted into UAE driving licence

 If you have a driving licence from your home country and now you want to change that into UAE driving licence here are  the steps you need to take : 

What are required ?

In order to exchange your current driving permit for a UAE license, you need to submit the following items:

• - Emirates ID
• - Original driving license
• - Official Arabic translation of your driving license
• - No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your sponsor
• - Two passport-sized photos
• - Completed application form
• - Valid eye test results from an eye test center accredited by the RTA

Online  Application:

• Visit the RTA website and log in with your Emirates ID, passport details, or traffic file number.
• Click 'Apply for a New Driving Licence or a New Category Based on Exchanging Licence.'
• Verify your identity with an OTP sent to your phone number.
• Specify the country where your driving licence was issued and enter the licence details.
• Attach a copy of your driving licence and submit the application.
• Pay the required fees using a debit or credit card.

Fees structure:

• Dh200 for opening a file with RTA
• Dh600 for the issuance of the new Dubai licence
• Dh50 to get the traffic handbook for the traffic manual
• Dh20 or more for 'Knowledge and Innovation' fees

Receiving Your Licence

Show your original driving license and Emirates ID at any RTA Customer Happiness Centre. Once they verify your documents, they will print and give you your new license. If you have an Apple device, you can also receive your electronic license via the Apple Wallet using the RTA Dubai App. For the residents who are 21 years or above the validity of the driving licence will be 2 years. That will be for one year for those under 21.
