    യുഎഇ തൊഴിൽ നിയമം വളരെ വ്യക്തമാണ്: employment visa, work permit ക്രമീകരിക്കുകയും അവയ്‌ക്ക് പണം നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് തൊഴിലുടമയുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമാണ്. ഇത് മെയിൻലാൻഡ് തൊഴിലുടമകൾക്കും എല്ലാ ഫ്രീ സോണുകൾക്കും ബാധകമാണ്.

     ജോലിക്കെടുക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ചിലവുകൾ തൊഴിലാളിയിൽ നിന്നും ഈടാക്കാൻ  തൊഴിലുടമയ്ക്ക് അനുവാദമില്ല. യുഎഇ അധികൃതർ പലതവണ ഇക്കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ പ്രശ്നം 1989-ലെ മന്ത്രിതല ഉത്തരവ് 52, ആർട്ടിക്കിൾ 6a-ൽ പ്രതിപാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അത് ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു: An undertaking from the employer to the effect that he shall sponsor and be responsible for the recruited labourer, the bearing of his recruitment expenses and his employment in accordance with the employment contract in a way not prejudicing the provision of the Federal Law No (8)/1980 referred to herein.”

     ചിലവ് തിരിച്ചടക്കണമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ്  തൊഴിലുടമ ജീവനക്കാരനെ കരാറിൽ ഒപ്പിടാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന   കേസുകളുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ഇത് ഔദ്യോഗിക തൊഴിൽ കരാറിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടില്ല, നിയമവിരുദ്ധവും നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തതുമായ ഒരു വ്യവസ്ഥയാണിത്.

     വിസ ചെലവുകൾ നൽകാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ഏതൊരു  ജീവനക്കാരനും the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation ൽ പരാതിപ്പെടാവുന്നതാണ്.

    പ്രൊബേഷൻ സമയത്തു ആരെങ്കിലും രാജിവയ്ക്കുമ്പോൾ, കരാർ പ്രകാരം 30 ദിവസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ  കമ്പനിയെ അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. യുഎഇ തൊഴിൽ നിയമം അനുസരിച്ച്, ജീവനക്കാരനെ ആറു മാസത്തിൽ കൂടുതൽ പ്രൊബേഷൻ കാലയളവിനു കീഴിൽ വെക്കാൻ പാടില്ല.

    Application for tourist visas will be open to people from all countries starting August 30.

    Tourists will need to be vaccinated with one of the WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccines.

    All previous rules for those unvaccinated, including exempted categories, remain in place.

    Five-year multiple entry tourist visa for all nationalities in UAE

    Five-year multiple entry tourist visa

    On March 21, 2021, the UAE Cabinet approved a five-year multiple entry tourist visa for all nationalities.

    Is a UAE-based sponsor required for the visa?

    The visa does not require a UAE-based individual or organisation to sponsor the visa. Tourists can apply for the visa on self-sponsorship.

    What is the maximum duration of stay on the visa?

    A tourist can stay for 90 days on each visit. This can be extended for another 90 days.

    Up until now, tourists could only get visas for 30-day or 90-day durations.

    How to apply?

    Step 1: Log on to the ICA website  www.ica.gov.ae

    Step 2: Select ‘E-channel Services’ from the main module on the website.

    Step 3: Select ‘Public services’.

    Step 4: Select the service ‘Visa – multi-trip / tourist long-term (5 years) for all nationalities / visa issuance’

    Step 5: Fill in the application form with your personal details as well as your passport details.

    Step 6: Attach the necessary documents like your passport copy and photograph.

    Step 7: Review your application.

    Step 8: Make the payment for the fees.

    Note: It is also important to check the PCR test and vaccination requirements before you book a ticket, after you have received a visa to travel to the UAE.

    You can travel if you have GDRFA approval, negative Covid test results

    Airline representatives will check for GDRFA approvals and test results, and not travellers’ vaccination status.

    Dubai residence visa holders can travel from India to Dubai as long as they have an approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), in addition to negative Covid test results.

    Airline representatives at check-in counters would be checking for these two requirements, and not travellers’ Covid vaccination status.

    Travellers must have a negative result of a PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure and a negative Rapid PCR test result taken four hours prior to travel.

    As per instructions issued by civil aviation authorities in Dubai, for passengers to disembark in Dubai, only three documents are required. They need to have a GDRFA approval, negative RT-PCR test result taken 48 hours before departure, and a rapid PCR test result from the airport.

    A notice to travel agencies and other stakeholders has been issued by Indian carrier Vistara Airlines to this effect.

    However, it is not immediately clear if airline representatives would confirm the vaccination status of passengers travelling to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah airports.

    How to get a travel report / Entry Exit report / Exit Certificate from UAE Immigration Department

    What is a travel report?

    A travel report also goes by a few other names, like:

    - Entry/Exit report

    - Entry/Exit certificate

    - Movement report

    The report is issued by an immigration authority and shows the exit and entry dates and locations (ports of entry or exit), the applicant’s passport number and other immigration related details.

    In the UAE, the report will be issued either by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), or, in case of Dubai visas, by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

    There are two types of travel reports.

    One is the overall travel report and the other is the last trip information. Also, the cost of the travel report for a person on a family visa and an employee on a company visa is slightly different.

    TWO TYPES OF TRAVEL REPORTS:

    1. Single Entry/ Exit Travel Report: This only shows the last trip’s information for the applicant.

    2. Detailed or Overall Entry/ Exit Passenger Report: This reflects the full history of entry/exit status for the applicant.

    Where can I get a travel report?

    - DubaiNow app - Recently, the app DubaiNow has enabled Dubai visa holders to apply for immigration services online. This includes the service of getting a travel report for one’s dependents.

    If you are applying for the travel report in person, you would be required to provide the following documents:

    - Sponsor’s or applicant’s original Emirates ID

    - Applicant’s original passport with visa page copy

    - Passport sized photograph

    Cost of a travel report

    Overall travel report for employees - Dh276

    Overall travel report for family Dh240

    Sponsor and sponsored Dh256

    Who needs an ICA report?

    There are various situations when you may need to get a travel report.

    1. Cancelling residence visa when outside the UAE, quite often when a person is outside the UAE and wishes to cancel their residence visa, they request for a travel report.

    This is done in order to know whether the individual is inside or outside the country,.

    2. Company closure – If a company is shutting down, the business owner is required to prove that they have no employee left on the company’s visa.

    3. Migrating to a new country – at times the country that you are migrating to may require your travel history to conduct background checks.

    4. Expat applying for tax exemption from country of origin – In some cases, you may need to apply for tax exemption if you are not living in your home country.

    5. Other Applying for an equivalency certificate – When you are applying for in UAE, the ICA report is a mandatory document to be uploaded while applying for certificate equivalency on the Ministry of Education portal.

    How to apply for certificate from Dubai Police against lost passport

    Certificate can be received on e-mail without visiting any of the service centres.

    The new service enables customers to receive certificates against lost passports faster in three steps.

    Technology helps connect Dubai Police with Dubai Courts, Dubai Public Prosecution and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs that helps cut the time taken to register a case for lost passport. 

    Customers can apply for a lost passport certificate on the Dubai Police website, through the Dubai Police smart app or at a Smart Police Station (SPS) in Dubai.
