GDRFA explains eligibility, documents and application process for frequent visitors
Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) – Dubai has explained the eligibility criteria, required documents and application procedure for the five-year multiple-entry tourist visa. The visa allows tourists to enter the UAE multiple times during its five-year validity. Visitors can stay for up to 90 consecutive days per entry and may extend their stay for another 90 days, subject to the applicable conditions. However, the total stay in the UAE cannot exceed 180 days in a year. The visa will make travel easier for those who regularly visit Dubai, as they will not need to apply for a new tourist visa for every trip.
Eligibility and required documents: Applicants must hold a passport valid for at least six months. They must also provide a bank statement showing a minimum balance of US$4,000 or its equivalent during the previous six months. Other required documents include a recent personal photograph, valid health insurance, a return or onward ticket from the UAE, proof of residence and proof of identity.
How to apply: Applications can be submitted through the GDRFA Dubai digital services platform. After logging in with UAE Pass or a username, applicants should select the five-year multiple-entry tourist visa service, complete the application, upload the required documents and pay the applicable fee. Once approved, the electronic visa will be sent by email. The digital service is available 24 hours a day, according to current service information. Applicants can also submit their applications through Amer Centres, with the service expected to be completed within 48 hours.
