The next-generation electric supercar draws attention with special editions; the flying-capable ‘Rocket’ version remains restricted
Abu Dhabi: Reservations
Have reportedly opened in the UAE for Tesla’s next-generation Roadster electric supercar, with reservation amounts ranging from Dh210,000 to Dh1.02 million, depending on the version. However, these amounts are not the vehicle’s final selling prices. Tesla says the final price may change as features and technical specifications are further developed.
For the standard version, customers must initially pay a refundable deposit of Dh20,000, followed by Dh190,000 within 10 days, bringing the total reservation amount to Dh210,000. The limited-edition ‘Thrust’ version, which features acceleration thrusters, requires a total reservation amount of Dh1.02 million. Tesla claims this version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than one second, although this performance claim has not been independently verified.
Tesla has also announced a ‘Rocket’ version featuring a full flight system. According to reports, access to this version is restricted to invited customers, and its reservation amount has not been publicly disclosed. Claims about its flying capabilities should be treated as announced features rather than independently verified performance. The Rocket version is not approved for public-road use, and its availability is subject to local regulations.
