No need to fear; authorities will guide those who want to correct violations and live legally in the UAE
Dubai: The Dubai General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has assured full support to people who have made residency or visa-related mistakes or violations and genuinely want to correct them. GDRFA Director General Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said anyone who approaches the authorities openly will receive the necessary advice, guidance and assistance to regularise their status and start a new chapter of life legally. He stressed that people should not be afraid to come forward, whether the mistake was made knowingly or unknowingly, and regardless of whether it was a minor or serious violation.
Speaking to Emirates News during an announcement at the GDRFA head office about fake freelance visas, Al Marri said the authority is always ready to help those who honestly explain their situation. He said the approach would be supportive and focused on providing a safe and reassuring environment for everyone who seeks assistance, including men, women and children. GDRFA will continue guiding them through the required procedures and supporting them until they are able to resume their lives in a proper and lawful manner.
Meanwhile, Dubai continues to take strict action against illegal visa scams. In a recent operation carried out in cooperation with Dubai Police, GDRFA arrested a singer and his associates for allegedly promoting and selling fake freelance visas through social media platforms. Authorities said strong legal action will continue against groups that misuse their social media popularity to deceive people with fake visa offers, as well as against individuals and entities that violate UAE residency and visa regulations.
