Journey time between Al Majlis Street and 2nd December Street to drop from six minutes to just one
Dubai | The final bridge under the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project will open to traffic on Friday, October 30. The opening is expected to reduce journey time between Al Majlis Street and 2nd December Street from six minutes to just one minute, improving daily commutes for motorists.
The 1,000-metre-long, two-lane bridge will accommodate around 3,000 vehicles per hour. It is designed to ease congestion at one of Dubai’s key intersections, connecting Sheikh Zayed Road with nearby commercial and residential areas.
The Dh696-million-plus project includes five bridges with a combined length of 5,000 metres. With the final bridge opening, all major works under the project will be completed. Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said the development supports the leadership’s directives to upgrade road infrastructure and strengthen connectivity across the emirate.
