UAE school calendar for 2018-19

Academic year 2018 - 2019 (Ministry of Education)
August 26, 2018First day for teachers and administrative staff
September 2, 2018Term 1 begins for all students
December 16, 2018Term 1 ends (Winter Break)
January 3, 2019Teachers and all administrative staff return to work
January 6, 2019Term 2 begins for all students
March 31, 2019Term 2 ends (Spring Break)
April 14, 2019Term 3 begins for all students
July 4, 2019Term 3 ends (for students)
July 11, 2019Last day for teachers and administrative staff
Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) regulates the calendar for private schools in Dubai but this corresponds to the ministry approved calendar. 

Academic year 2018 - 2019 (KHDA)
April 02, 2018Start of academic year
July 01, 2018Summer break begins
September 02, 2018Return from summer break
December 16, 2018Winter break begins
January 06, 2019Return from winter break (three weeks)
March 14 - 21, 2019End of academic year (based on KHDA instructions and approvals)
Monday, April 01, 2019New academic year begins 
However, based on KHDA approvals, schools may extend or reduce winter break (four weeks or two weeks). 

2017 - 2018

September 10, 2017Term 1 begins for all students
December 17, 2017Term 1 ends (Winter Break)
January 2, 2018Teachers and all administrative staff return to work

April 1, 2018Teachers and all administrative staff return to work
April 8, 2018Term 3 begins for all students
July 5, 2018Term 3 ends (for students)
July 12, 2018Last day for teachers and administrative staff

For winter break students will receive a three-week holiday and for spring break, students will have a two-week holiday. Summer breaks will be the longest as usual, with students enjoying a seven-week break, with teachers receiving around six weeks.
