Desert driving licence in Sharjah

Sharjah Driving Institute started to issue driver's licence for desert vehicles and desert safari tourism companies from September 16, 2018. The new permits will be applicable particularly to tourism companies offering desert safaris in Sharjah.

 Drivers will undergo special preparations and tests to pass, including theory and practical examination and training at the driver's institute in such terrain.  

 The training will also include technical and practical knowledge of how to extract a vehicle if it gets stuck in the sand.

 In Dubai, it is mandatory to acquire a desert guide permit before applying for the safari driving permit at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The permit is required to ensure all applicants have the right training and skills to interact with tourists and provide them with the right information about Dubai.

 Online services to make getting driving licence easier in Sharjah

 Smart services are available on Sharjah Driving Institute website to save customers' time.

 The new services will be available through a smart app on the website, including online registration, distance learning, and opening a learner file for obtaining a driver's licence.
It also includes distance learning for theoretical classes and other classes on traffic culture, as well as making appointments for tests and receiving results.
Customers can also make online payments for services.
