Mandatory COVID-19 PCR tests for all UAE airport arrivals

It is now mandatory to conduct a COVID-19 PCR test on everyone arriving through the country's airports, including citizens, residents, tourists and transit passengers, regardless of the country they are flying in from.

The PCR tests will be implemented, starting July 24, at all UAE airports.

They also need to ensure that residents have signed a Health Declaration Form.

The list of accredited centres is available on www.screening.purehealth.ae
For countries that do not have testing centres listed on the website, it is up to the airlines to ensure that the passenger has a negative PCR test result from approved centres.

Etihad airlines listed the Covid-19 PCR test result as a requirement for residents at check-in at the port of departure. "If there are no testing facilities at your point of departure, or you test positive, you will not be permitted to travel," the airline said on its website.

All UAE residents traveling to the European Union, Britain and any other countries that require a COVID-19 PCR test, have to take the test before they board the plane.

Children under 12 and children of determination are exempted from the laboratory test that is valid for 96 hours from the date of the test.

These new requirements apply to all airlines operating in the UAE.

Air India Express on Tuesday clarified that children under 12 years flying with the airline from India to the UAE are exempted from mandatory COVID-19 PCR test only if they are landing in Sharjah International Airport.

Only Sharjah had exempted children from the test.

A valid negative COVID–19 PCR test report from a government-approved laboratory for all passengers above 12 years old is applicable to passengers flying from India to Sharjah.
