One More Year Without an Office: Abu Dhabi Offers New Relief to Tajer Licence Holders

Existing licence holders whose office-free period expires this year can continue operating without a physical office for another year

Abu Dhabi: Existing businesses operating under the Tajer Abu Dhabi licence have been granted a new concession that allows them to continue their operations without taking a physical office. Licence holders whose current office-free period expires this year can continue their business for one additional year without renting or providing office premises.

The Tajer Abu Dhabi licence covers more than 1,200 business activities, including small-scale trading, various services and online businesses. Under the existing rules, new Tajer licence holders can operate without a physical office for the first three years. This helps new entrepreneurs reduce initial costs by avoiding office rent and related expenses when starting their businesses.

Demand for Tajer licences has also been increasing. The number of new Tajer Abu Dhabi licences rose by 24% in 2025, while registrations increased by a further 8% during the first half of 2026. The additional one-year concession applies specifically to existing Tajer licence holders whose current office-free period expires during 2026.

Air India–flydubai partnership to expand travel options for Indian passengers

New connectivity to more cities in India and Europe; passengers can book both airlines on a single ticket

Dubai: Air India and flydubai have signed a new interline partnership to provide better connectivity for passengers travelling between the UAE, India and other international destinations. Under the agreement, Dubai, Delhi and Mumbai will serve as key transit hubs, linking the networks of both airlines. Once the partnership becomes operational, Air India passengers will be able to access 52 additional destinations through flydubai, including 23 cities in Europe, 21 destinations in West Asia and six in Africa.

At the same time, flydubai passengers will gain access to 69 destinations on Air India’s network via Delhi and Mumbai. These include Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Goa, Jaipur, Pune and Varanasi, as well as international destinations including Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Bali and Seoul. A major benefit is that passengers can book connecting journeys on both airlines under a single ticket. Baggage can also be transferred directly to the final destination, reducing the inconvenience of booking separate tickets and managing connecting flights. The arrangement is expected to be particularly useful for Gulf residents travelling to India for family visits and business purposes.

Meanwhile, Air India Gulf, Middle East and Africa Regional Manager P.P. Singh said that Air India and Air India Express will operate a combined 272 flights per week between the UAE and India during the upcoming winter travel season. The winter schedule will run from October 26 until the end of March.

Dubai Customs extends duty suspension to 180 days; traders get 60 extra days

Relief for businesses as additional time is granted for re-exports, temporary admissions and transit goods

Dubai: Dubai Customs has extended the customs duty suspension period for certain customs declarations by another 60 days, bringing the total suspension period to 180 days. The move is aimed at easing financial and administrative pressures on businesses.

The extension applies to eligible customs procedures whose suspension period expires after February 27 and up to October 31, 2026. It covers goods imported for re-export, goods under temporary admission and all types of transit goods. The additional 60 days will be calculated from the original suspension expiry date.

The decision is intended to support businesses and help keep supply-chain operations running smoothly amid current global trade conditions. Under a June 18, 2026 notice, the suspension period had previously been extended to 120 days. The latest Customs Notice No. 17/2026, issued on September 23, extends it further to 180 days. Dubai Customs may also consider further extensions in accordance with the applicable regulations.

ദുബൈ: ഇന്ത്യൻ ഡിജിറ്റൽ പേയ്മെന്റ് പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോമായ ഫോൺപേയ്ക്ക് യുഎഇയിൽ സാമ്പത്തിക സേവനങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നതിനുള്ള രണ്ട് ലൈസൻസുകൾക്ക് സെൻട്രൽ ബാങ്കിന്റെ പ്രാഥമിക തത്വത്തിലുള്ള അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചു. റീട്ടെയിൽ പേയ്മെന്റ് സേവനങ്ങൾ, കാർഡ് സ്കീമുകൾ, സ്റ്റോർഡ് വാല്യു സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കാണ് ആദ്യഘട്ട അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചതെന്ന് കമ്പനി ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച അറിയിച്ചു.

ആദ്യഘട്ട നിയന്ത്രണ പരിശോധനകൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷമാണ് ഈ പ്രാഥമിക അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചത്. എന്നാൽ യുഎഇയിൽ വാണിജ്യാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ സേവനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതിന് സെൻട്രൽ ബാങ്കിന്റെ അന്തിമ അനുമതി കൂടി ആവശ്യമാണ്. അന്തിമ അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചാൽ പ്രാദേശിക ബാങ്കുകൾ, അംഗീകൃത പേയ്മെന്റ് സേവനദാതാക്കൾ, സാങ്കേതിക വിതരണക്കാർ എന്നിവരുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തനം വിപുലീകരിക്കാനാണ് ഫോൺപേയുടെ പദ്ധതി.

2016-ൽ പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ച ഫോൺപേ, ഇന്ത്യയുടെ യുപിഐ സംവിധാനത്തിലൂടെ പണമിടപാടുകൾ, ബിൽ പേയ്മെന്റുകൾ, റീചാർജ് തുടങ്ങിയ സേവനങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്ന പ്രമുഖ ഫിൻടെക് പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോമാണ്. അമേരിക്കൻ റീട്ടെയിൽ ഭീമനായ വാൾമാർട്ടിന്റെ പിന്തുണയുള്ള കമ്പനിയുടെ യുഎഇ പ്രവേശനം ഇന്ത്യ–യുഎഇ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സാമ്പത്തിക ഇടപാടുകൾക്ക് കൂടുതൽ സാധ്യതകൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുമെന്നാണ് പ്രതീക്ഷ. വിപണിയിലെ ചാഞ്ചാട്ടത്തെ തുടർന്ന് നേരത്തെ മാറ്റിവച്ചിരുന്ന ഓഹരി വിൽപ്പന വിപണി സ്ഥിരത കൈവരിച്ച ശേഷം പുനരാരംഭിക്കാനും കമ്പനി പദ്ധതിയിടുന്നുണ്ട്.

ദുബൈ: ദുബൈക്കും അബൂദബിക്കുമിടയിലെ ഇത്തിഹാദ് റെയിൽ യാത്രാ ട്രെയിൻ സർവീസിനുള്ള ടിക്കറ്റ് ബുക്കിംഗ് ആരംഭിച്ചു. യാത്രക്കാർക്ക് ഔദ്യോഗിക വെബ്സൈറ്റ് വഴി ടിക്കറ്റുകൾ മുൻകൂട്ടി ബുക്ക് ചെയ്യാം. സെപ്റ്റംബർ 30 മുതലാണ് ഇരു എമിറേറ്റുകളെയും ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പുതിയ യാത്രാ സർവീസ് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്.

ജുമൈറ ഗോൾഫ് എസ്റ്റേറ്റിന് സമീപമുള്ള അൽ യലായിസ് സ്റ്റേഷൻ തുറക്കുന്നതോടെയാണ് യു.എ.ഇയുടെ ദേശീയ റെയിൽ ശൃംഖലയിൽ പുതിയ ഘട്ടത്തിന് തുടക്കമാകുന്നത്. പുതിയ ട്രെയിൻ സർവീസിലൂടെ ദുബൈയിൽ നിന്ന് അബൂദബിയിലേക്ക് വെറും 57 മിനിറ്റിനുള്ളിൽ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാൻ സാധിക്കും. ഇരു എമിറേറ്റുകൾക്കുമിടയിലെ യാത്ര കൂടുതൽ വേഗത്തിലാക്കാൻ പുതിയ സർവീസ് സഹായിക്കും.

ദുബൈ–അബൂദബി റൂട്ടിൽ കംഫർട്ട് ക്ലാസ് ടിക്കറ്റുകൾക്ക് ഒരു വശത്തേക്ക് 39 ദിർഹം മുതലാണ് നിരക്ക്. പ്രീമിയം ക്ലാസ് ടിക്കറ്റുകൾക്ക് 109 ദിർഹം മുതലാണ് നിരക്ക് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. നിലവിൽ സർവീസ് നടത്തുന്ന അബൂദബി–ഫുജൈറ റൂട്ടിലെ കംഫർട്ട് ക്ലാസ് നിരക്കായ 55 ദിർഹത്തേക്കാൾ കുറഞ്ഞ നിരക്കിലാണ് പുതിയ യാത്രാ സൗകര്യം ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇരു നഗരങ്ങൾക്കുമിടയിൽ പതിവായി യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് പുതിയ സർവീസ് ഏറെ പ്രയോജനകരമാകും.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Introduces Entry Fee for Visitors

UAE residents with Emirates ID to pay AED 5; international tourists AED 10 — Prayer visitors can enter free

Abu Dhabi: Visitors to the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi will now have to pay an entry fee. The fee is AED 5 for UAE residents with an Emirates ID and AED 10 for international tourists. Entry remains completely free for those visiting the mosque for prayer. Visitors above 60 years of age, children below three, and people of determination are also exempt from the fee. Those planning to visit can book their tickets in advance, up to one month ahead, through the official website of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre.

From Saturday to Thursday, visiting hours are from 9am to 8:30pm. On Fridays, visitors can enter from 9am to 11:30am and again from 2:30pm to 8:30pm. A special cultural exhibition lasting around 30 to 45 minutes will also be available for visitors, highlighting the mosque’s history and its messages of tolerance and coexistence. During the first six months of 2026, the mosque welcomed 3.12 million visitors. More than 1.8 million came for prayer, while around 1.2 million were tourists from different countries. Asians accounted for 52% of visitors, with Indians making up the largest share at 21%.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in the UAE, was built as part of the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. Its major attractions include 82 white marble domes and minarets, more than 1,000 columns, large crystal chandeliers and the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet.

Dubai Police Warns of Fake Global Village Season 31 Websites

Scammers may use fake offers and social media accounts to steal money and personal information

Dubai: Dubai Police has warned residents about fake websites and social media accounts promoting fraudulent offers linked to Global Village Season 31. Scammers may create pages that look similar to official platforms to trick people into making fake purchases or sharing personal information that could later be misused.

The warning comes as Global Village prepares to launch its exclusive VIP Packs for Season 31. Presales will run from September 21 to 25, allowing visitors to purchase their preferred packs early for an additional fee. General sales will begin on September 26. The VIP Packs will be released in stages through the Coca-Cola Arena website*. Police noted that similar scams tend to appear every year around the announcement of Global Village activities and packages.

Residents are advised to be careful with unusually cheap prices and offers that seem too good to be true. Tickets and packages should only be purchased through official and authorised channels. People should also avoid clicking links or following social media accounts from unknown sources. Anyone who comes across a suspicious account or link can report it through the Dubai Police eCrime platform or by calling 901. Such reports help authorities combat cybercrime and protect others from falling victim to scams.

UAE Makes Licences and Microchipping Mandatory for Pets

Registration and annual vaccinations also required for dogs and cats

Dubai: Authorities in the UAE have introduced stricter regulations for people keeping pets, including dogs and cats. The new requirements aim to ensure the safety of animals and maintain cleanliness in cities. Under the rules, pet owners must register their animals with the municipality’s veterinary services and obtain the necessary licence. Microchipping is also mandatory for all dogs and cats.

Pet owners must ensure that their animals receive their required annual vaccinations on time. Once registration is completed, owners will receive a plastic identification tag containing a registration number. This tag must be attached to the pet’s collar at all times. The microchip and registration tag can help authorities identify and locate pets if they go missing.

Those bringing pets into the UAE from India or other countries must also comply with the regulations. Pets must have microchips that meet international ISO standards, along with updated vaccination certificates. Owners should ensure that all these requirements are fulfilled before bringing their pets into the country.
