Procedure for the Loss of Passport, containing a valid UAE Residence visa

+ In case of the loss of an Indian passport containing a valid UAE Residence visa, the following documents need to be submitted at the Embassy Counter:

+ A duly filled Loss of Passport form (Type in Capital Letters), with the applicant's two contact numbers (at the bottom of the form).

+ Old and new passport's coloured copy.

+ UAE Residence Visa's coloured copy.

+ A letter from the sponsor in UAE, stating that the applicant left UAE with his permission.

+ A copy of the Original Police Report or FIR in English, attested by the Indian External Affairs Ministry (The date-of-issue of FIR should be before the date-of-issue of the new passport).

+ ARABIC TRANSLATION of the Police report of the lost passport with the seal of the Arabic Translator.

+ One Passport Size Coloured photograph.

+ Fee of Rs 7,500/-.

Once these documents are submitted at the UAE Embassy Counter, the applicant will be informed when the entry permit is ready.

Above procedure is applicable for all countries. Only the fee may be changed.

Q: I went on vacation to India last month. Unfortunately I lost my passport which is having my Dubai visa. It is valid for further one year. Now I got my new passport. How can I enter UAE on same visa?

A: You should approach UAE Embassy in New Delhi or Consulate in Mumbai to get true copy of your valid UAE visa. If they issue it, you can travel and enter UAE. Upon your entry Dubai Airport officer may ask a guarantee passport of your sponsor/PRO and that will be released after your visa stamped on your passport.

You have to take your personal file print-out from Immigration and type visa stamping in lieu of lost application from Typing centre. Get sign/stamp from your sponsor and submit it at Immigration. No need medical. Show your stamped passport at airport and receive the guarantee passport.

Second Option: Your sponsoring company should apply for a visit visa with all supporting documents (Police Certificate of your country with attestation and legal translation in Arabic) and stamp visa in the same way mentioned above. Latter, you will have to exit with visit visa to clear visit visa file.

Q: I am an Indian and a student in Dubai under my father's sponsorship. I went on vacation to Europe with my friends and I lost my passport at Vienna city. I contacted Indian mission there and they issued a hand written Emergency passport. When I approached UAE Embassy there, they refused to issue true copy of my UAE visa because my passport was not Machine readable.

I flew to India where I received my new passport after police verification. My question is; can I enter Dubai on same visa?
