Abu Dhabi has opened a rapid coronavirus screening centre for people wanting to enter the emirate.
What is the test?
The rapid screening test, which employs a laser-based technique, was set up at the Ghantoot border check point, Off E11, on July 12.
The test detects inflammation in blood samples within seconds.
By screening individuals, it reduces the number of people needing the RT-PCR test.
If you wish to visit Abu Dhabi, you are required to pre-book an appointment for the test.

How can you enter Abu Dhabi?
Everyone, UAE citizen or resident is allowed to enter the emirate of Abu Dhabi within 48 hours of receiving a negative COVID-19 test result.
You can show the negative test result on the Al Hosn App or a text message from a health authority affiliated with the National Screening Programme.
Who are not allowed to enter Abu Dhabi?
Those transporting mail and goods of all kinds, which was excempted from the need to apply for a permit from the start.
Non-Abu Dhabi based blue-collar workers.
Some exceptions have been announced.
Those with medical appointments for cancer or kidney related treatment.
Children under 12, those requiring certain medical procedures and representatives of government departments have been exempted.
They may apply for a one day Mission permit for a maximum of 14 hours (6am to 8pm)
Front line workers are not excluded from the restriction.
What if I am visiting family outside Abu Dhabi over the weekend?
The decision allows those who wish to leave the emirate to do so and re-enter again. a test may be taken at Seha Screening Centers across the UAE.

Workers have been advised to manage their work to ensure they have the necessary negative test result to enter the emirate.
How can I get a COVID-19 test every time?
While each test costs Dh370, authorities have advised people to only travel when necessary and get the test to ensure the community's health and safety.
Some categories of people can get free COVID-19 tests in the UAE.
If you do not fall under these categories, you will be required to cover the cost of the test.
Those entering Abu Dhabi need a negative COVID-19 test done, valid for 48 hours.
According to Abu Dhabi Police, visitors with a negative COVID-19 result can also enter the emirate.
However, the test needs to be done at a centre affiliated with the National Screening Programme, and valid for 48 hours.
