You can cancel your car registration and transfer ownership in the following ways.

For individuals: 
  1. Seller's vehicle ownership certificate (Mulkiya) and original Emirates ID or Passport.
  2. Buyer's original Emirates ID, copy of the valid passport and residence visa for non-GCC expats.
  3. Car insurance

Residents stranded outside UAE can return to UAE from July 12

Identity and Citizenship (ICA) UAE residents outside the country who wish to return to register for the ‘Residents' Entry Permit’ service at the authority website, smartservices.ica.gov.ae.

 Upon entering an email address at the ICA Smart Services System site, it automatically sends back a registration verification email to complete the procedures.

 On clicking “complete registration”, it redirects to the user to the ICA website where it reads: “Your email has been verified. Please press below button to complete your registration".

 Make sure you do not book flights without receiving an approval from the concerned authorities. As approvals may take time, it is best to book tickets once you receive an approval number. 

 The entry for your name in Arabic will automatically be filled in as long as you have provided the correct information earlier.

 Attach documents
You need to have digital copies of your passport and visa copy, your passport sized photograph and proof of your visit outside the UAE. 

 If your application gets stuck due to a glitch, refresh the application using the draft number you will receive.

 There are no fees charged for this application. 

 Once you have completed your application, you will receive a tracking number. You simply need to wait for your approval to come through.

When can I fly back to the UAE? Flights have resumed limited operations. 

 Returning expats have to enter the UAE within 21 days of the date of approval. 

 ICA will mail you the status
After verifying your current position and visa status, they will inform you by mail if your request has been approved or not.

Trade License auto renewal by sending a text message with the trade licence number to ‘6969,’

Now, business owners can renew the business licence through the auto renewal service in one step by sending a text message with the trade licence number to ‘6969,’ following which they will receive a ‘payment voucher.’ They can then complete the payment through any of the payment channels provided in the text message. This is done without any visits and zero paperwork.

 Dubai Economy offers a number of payment channels for transactions related to auto renewals, such as online through Smart Dubai Payment Gateway; Sadad Aafaq; DED Business App; Commercial Bank of Dubai (customers) and Dubai Islamic Bank (customers). Customers can also pay fees through Aafaq via bank transfer or Deposit using Dubai Islamic Bank ATMs. Cash payment through Commercial Bank of Dubai or Emirates Islamic (branches/ATMs) is also an option.

 No more office visits
Previously, the customer’s journey to renew a licence included four visits and seven steps. Now it is three steps only; 1. send SMS 2. Receive payment voucher 3. Pay fees online and get license online.

 DED new package enables companies to renew their trade licences without a renewed lease contract (EJARI), in addition to offering a 12-month easy installment option for fee payments with zero down payment.
